Kasina, a Korean streetwear brand, will connect with Nike once again, but this time around, it’s on the Air Max 1. This release is special as it will celebrate Kasina’s 25th Anniversary and the 35th Anniversary of the Air Max 1.
Kasina will release two colorways of the Nike Air Max 1. Both will come with premium materials like leather, suede, and pony hair. Looking closer, the pair comes with a flower on the mini Swoosh logo on the lateral toe, Kasina branding on the tongue labels, wooden lace jewels, and an icy translucent outsole.
Inspiration for the first pair comes from the mandarin duck. In Korean culture, mandarin ducks carved from wood, known as kireogi, are paired together and often given as marriage gifts because it is believed that, unlike other types of ducks, they mate for life and that if one of the pair dies, the other will mourn. This symbolizes Kasina’s anniversary and the theme ‘better together.’ Also, each pair comes with a duck-shaped hangtag.
