2022 marks 35 years since the Nike Air Trainer 1 debuted, and the Swoosh are continuing their bringback of the versatile model without second thought, as new colourways like the ‘Limestone’ emerge. This tactile combo is a nice variant to the range of AT1 releases so far this year, which have varied from over-the-top to more stately OGs like the ‘Chlorophyll’.
Tinker Hatfield’s 1987 design arguably is at its purest when it’s treated delicately, and while this edition is certainly restrained, there are still enough interesting elements to grab attention. There’s plenty of particularly fuzzy suede on the upper, which is rendered in the namesake ‘Limestone’ shade. This is met by a smooth brown leather forefoot overlay, before everything is tied together by ‘Valerian Blue’ Swooshes and strap hardware. The remainder of the upper is classically white. As it’s a brand new colourway, the Nike Air-embedded midsoles are left crispy white too, unlike some of the other faux vintage remakes of late.
