Originally released in 1987 and created by Tinker Hatfield, they have become known as the Air Max 1, as they were the first Air Max sneaker released by Nike. They feature an encapsulated Air-Sole unit in the heel. This classic Air Max has been retroed numerous times in various styles, versions and colorways.
