Designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield, the Air Trainer 1 first debuted in “Chlorophyll,” and the scheme remains one of the shoe’s most recognizable appearances. Inspired by the Portland YMCA’s gym equipment, the palette offsets white, black, and grey neutrals with the titular green, applying the latter to the Nike branding at the strap/heel, the eyelet along the collar, and the inside tongue. Just two years ago, Nike SB offered their own interpretation, which opted for a suede-heavy assembly distinct from the original.
