Sneaker culture’s omni-present obsession with inside out construction has influenced a number of silhouettes, from the Chuck 70 to many of Nike’s best. And in 2022, even Jordan Brand has fallen victim, and they’re about to release yet another deconstructed model: the Air Jordan 1 Low OG EX.
Compared to the four different “Inside Out” colorways unveiled earlier this year, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG EX isn’t a comprehensive flip. Instead, much of the construction keeps its typical dimension: the overlays remain one layer above, the toe box and mid-panel sit just a bit lower, and the Swoosh is as 3D as the most standard of GRs. Only the materials and details themselves proffer that deconstructed feel, as yellow foam is exposed along the edge of every unfinished piece.
